Candid photographs are a result of careful observation. The less direction that is given by a photographer the more genuine the photograph becomes. We are all highly tuned to recognising the meaning of an expression on the face of each other. When it comes to reading the expressions of our family and friends we know instantly the emotion that is being felt. By approaching the photography this way I feel I can capture the nuances of the day. I strive to observe quietly and inconspicuously, this allows me to be unobtrusive. I am sensitive to the family and friends wishes and I would be horrified if my presence at such an important occasion was ever the cause of even the slightest frustration.
