My approach
Couples invest huge amounts of love and emotion in creating these truly once-in-a-lifetime occasions. It is my job to document them. I strive to capture all the details and moments that should never be forgotten. I aim to work quickly and efficiently, without impeding the natural flow of the day. I document the interactions, the fun, and the poignant moments. I take great care to compose simple yet striking photographs throughout the day. A warm, friendly smile and quiet footsteps allow me to move easily among the guests without causing a fuss. It’s a wedding, not a photo shoot!
About Me
Taking on the responsibility of being a couples Wedding Photographer is a huge responsibility that I do not take on lightly. I have been photographing weddings since 2007 when I finally caved in to a friend and agreed to photograph his wedding. The floodgates opened, and I soon found myself photographing many friends’ weddings that summer. I was so nervous, as the responsibility was always at the forefront of my mind. Those first few weddings went much better than I expected, so I took the plunge and invested in all the necessary equipment needed to do a professional job. The summer of 2008 became my first year as a professional wedding photographer.
Art college had not fully prepared me for the learning curve I was about to experience. Photography has been a passion since childhood. Image-making had been a creative and rewarding process; now, as a wedding photographer, things have turned up to 11. I now find myself operating two cameras in the dark while ducking out of the way of a drummer’s flying sticks or running backwards down a busy street, focusing a lens through the viewfinder while a wedding car races toward me! It can be hectic, but that’s what it’s all about.
I am married now and have two children. I live in Cornwall in the village of Rock. I used to teach surfing in the summer and skiing in the winter. I dropped the surf coaching as wedding photography took over the summers, and now, with children at school, the ski teaching in the winter has been left behind too.
I have a photography gallery and studio in Rock, Cornwall, that is open to the public. If you would like to meet me here, please get in contact using the CONTACT tab on the website menu. Alternatively, we can arrange a meeting at your wedding venue or home.
”Wow! I knew they were going to be good but the pictures have superseded all our expectations!”

Weddings in Cornwall
I am based in the Village of Rock in North Cornwall. 90% of the Weddings I Photograph are in Cornwall. This area has many beautiful venues and wonderful Churches too. Roscarrock Farm and Porthilly Farm are both very popular location in this area. Dinham Farm, The point, St Enodoc Hotel and the St Moritz Hotel are also very popular. The Churches of St Endellion, St Enodoc, St Minver and St Micheal’s in Porthilly are popular Churches for weddings in this area. The village of St Kew has a beautiful church too.
Posing for Photos
Most people (me included) are not fans of posing for photographs. Nobody enjoys waiting awkwardly whilst someone fumbles with a camera, or asks you to ‘Smile!” I have photographed the Weddings of such a diverse range of people, and I have come to realise that we are more alike than we think! From the stars of the West End, Musicians, Models to Librarians, Scientist and Writers, and the thing I have the noticed most is that on your Wedding Day, people are happy, excited, sometimes a little nervous but mainly just want to have fun and spend time celebrating with family and friends. By carefully observing the day 100’s of perfect photo opportunities develop and I make sure I am there to capture them. Don’t worry about the photos! thats my job!
