Photographs during the Ceremony

The Ceremony is the most important part of the day. It is normally the most nerve racking too! It seems pretty common for people to fluff their lines a bit and in my experience its almost expected. As a guest at Weddings myself on occasion I have watched in horror as some photographers seem so conspicuous. I cannot believe how many times some press the shutter and click through all the most important moments. During the ceremony nobody really moves for 30 mins, so timing the photographs couldn’t be simpler. I wouldn’t dream of getting in the way, I prefer to photograph from a distance. I use moments of laughter or applause and during hymns to press the shutter. During the signing of the register people tend to be more relaxed and this provides opportunities to grab shots of the congregation and the church or venue. I am always respectful of the registrar or vicar’s wishes, and pride myself on my ability to work sensitively.
